So if you banned a product that caused hypertension and increased the heart rate why not aspartame. It also causes hypertension, triggers an irregular heart rhythm, interacts with "all" cardiac medication, damages the cardiac conduction system and causes sudden death. Oh, and a few other things, psychiatric problems, seizures, diabetes, cancer, obesity, drug interaction, embalms living tissue, causes blindness, MS, lupus, ALS, autism, all sorts of birth defects and horrors listed on 1000 pages in the medical text, Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic, by world expert H. J. Roberts, M.D., http://www.sunsentpress.com

I would like an answer even though your modus operandi is to ignore the fact that aspartame has mass poisoned the world. How about answering the Citizens Petition for Ban that requires the FDA to answer in 180 days. It was sent certified mail in 2002, and the imminent health hazard amendment that was sent in 2007 that the FDA is suppose to answer in a week or ten days. Have you ever thought of not violating the law all the time and be concerned with the health of the public instead of perks and jobs from industry?

Betty,

Public Citizen will never stop fighting to protect you from corporate greed and corruption.

Last week, after eight years of relentless pressure from Public Citizen, the Food and Drug Administration banned Meridia, a weight-reduction drug known to significantly increase blood pressure and heart rate. Since 1997, when the agency bent to the will of the pharmaceutical industry and approved this dangerous drug, countless victims have suffered heart attacks and strokes, while its manufacturer has made millions.

Our successful campaign to get Meridia banned is just one example of our ongoing work to confront the insidious influence that corporations have over the lives of every American.

We can't do this life-saving work alone. We need you by our side. That's why I hope you'll make a generous contribution to Public Citizen today.

Thanks to your unwavering commitment, Public Citizen is fighting corporate power on so many fronts:

We are exposing the real cost, in human suffering and lives, of Big Pharma's blind pursuit of profits, and forcing regulators to honor their responsibility to protect consumers.

We are leading the grassroots effort to overturn the disastrous Supreme Court decision that unleashed unprecedented levels of corporate spending in our elections.

We are working for a new energy policy and to hold the BPs of the world accountable, enforce commonsense financial reforms, and fix flawed trade policies that offshore jobs and weaken our economy.

The corporations have more money, more lobbyists, and more friends in high places. But Public Citizen has you. And together, we are taking a stand and making a difference!

http://salsa.democracyinaction.org
I'm asking for your support today to help sustain Public Citizen's mission to defend We, the People from corporate assault and battery.

Public Citizen accepts no corporate or government funding. We rely on individual donors like you for the revenue we need to stand up to corporate domination.

When government agencies charged with protecting the American people are held captive by the very industries they are supposed to regulate, when corporate power threatens to overtake our democracy, Public Citizen is here to say "Not on our watch!"

Please contribute what you can today.

Thank you,

Robert Weissman, President
