You people at Health Canada don't even think of the millions the world over suffering from this chemical poison. After almost 40 years of use and congressional hearings because of the symptoms and diseases triggered or precipitated by aspartame it has been controversial since the day it was marketed. Since aspartame was marketed through the political chicanery of Don Rumsfeld as previously discussed and not science, and there have been thousands of complaints since day one, at least the prudent thing for an agency to do is warn. The last thing an agency should do is remove the outright notice of aspartame being in a product. A lot of people don't read small print.

The duty of manufacturers, producers and the agencies that approved aspartame, to warn of all risks, either known or reasonably foreseeable, is set forth in many laws and rulings here in the US. Canada no doubt has similar laws. Some examples:

McEewen v Ortho Pharmaceutical Corp (1974) - the continuing duty of a manufacturer to keep abreast of scientific developments.

The aspartame industry has never done this. Ferebee v. Chevron Chemical Company (1984) - "Mere compliance with federal or state regulatory labeling requirements does not preclude a jury from finding that additional warnings should have been given by manufacturers".

The nature of the duty to warn with a degree of intensity for reasonable persons has been emphasized by courts. Since this issue is germane to aspartame product reactions, there are several related rulings. I'm sure if I researched I would find the same laws in Canada.

Since aspartame has been proven time and time again to cause disability and death it is no time to make the name "aspartame" less visible to the public. In fact, there should be a warning that it causes cancer and brain tumors just for starters. In Spruill v Boyle-Midway, Inc. (1962) the Court stated:

"To be of such character the warning must embody two characteristics: first, it must be in such form that it could reasonably be expected to catch the attention of the reasonably prudent man in the circumstances of its use; secondly, the content of the warning must be of such a nature as to be comprehensible to the average user and to convey a fair indication of the nature and extent of the danger to the mind of a reasonably prudent person."

Now Health Canada wants to make the name aspartame less visible! Until it can be banned anything with aspartame should be up front and clearly labeled to warn everyone who may want to use the product that it contains this toxin. What if a consumer is pregnant? She may have no idea aspartame causes birth defects and mental retardation. In original studies by G. D. Searle who first marketed it, aspartame triggered neural tube defects, spina bifida and cleft palate for starters. Autism has, with no explanation, increased 2500%. Let's make a little more personal. Ms. McIntyre are you aware of what neural tube defects are? They are birth defects of the brain, spine, or spinal cord. They happen in the first month of pregnancy, often before a woman even knows she is pregnant. The two most common neural tube defects are spina bifida and anencephaly.

Are there any studies prior to Health Canada approving this poison that were actually done in Canada? So many wonder where this epidemic of Autism came from. MIT, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, said by 2025 one out of two babies born will be autistic. It's obviously very easy to answer an email with a form letter with information from industry. But Health Canada hasn't protected the babies that ended up with autism because Health Canada is too busy protecting industry instead. I've written and provided information to Health Canada for years. Because we have alerted the world for over a quarter of a century victims have been alerted and stopped buying the toxin. So now the manufacturers want it unlabeled so they can continue to sell it. Health Canada is playing right into the hands of the manufacturers.

Notice that Cheryl Bridges started using aspartame for dieting purposes. Today six class actions have been filed, 3 in New York and 3 in California for deceptive advertising, marketing aspartame as a diet product when it has been shown through scientific peer reviewed research to cause obesity. It makes you crave carbohydrates so you gain weight.

The medical text, "Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic" by world expert H. J. Roberts, M.D. is 1000 pages of symptoms and diseases triggered or precipitated by aspartame. "Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills", another medical text by Russell Blaylock, M.D. goes into detail about the brain tumors. The poison breaks down to diketopiperazine, a brain tumor agent that caused brain tumors in original studies.

Obviously after all these years everything is a matter of record, and there are volumes of information on the diseases it precipitates. If you want the answers you have to be willing to listen to the facts.
