Subject: Open Letter to Dr. Eschenbach: New Study: Splenda/Sucralose is a Migraine Trigger (and they knew it all along, including seizures!). Aspartame does the same.

Dear Dr. Echenbach:

Many years ago I asked for acesulfame potassium to be removed from a health food store because of reports on its toxicity. I immediately got a call from Dr. Abe McCall of Sunnett, the manufacturer. He said, "Okay everybody knows aspartame causes brain tumors, but Acesulfame Potassium is safe, it only caused mammary tumors." I told him "thank you, but no thank you, we don't want breast cancer either." Of course, it caused cancer and leukemia in original studies per Dr. H. J. Roberts first book. Dr. McCall hung up on me and then later called back and said he didn't give me permission to tell the public. I replied, "Death and disability are not acceptable costs of business."

A few months ago I was talking with Marianne Lamar whose husband suffered a brain tumor from aspartame. He decided to use Splenda and had a seizure. Marianne was referred to McNeil Labs and read them the riot act, that she had just watched her husband have this seizure on their product. The lady with McNeil finally admitted "yes, we do know that Splenda will cause seizures and migraines." (tlamar8@comcast.net). Asked why there was no warning McNeil said they hadn't had that many reported. In other words, they were hoping they wouldn't correlate the seizures with the product they are using.

This tells you that (1) confession is good for the soul, and (2) Splenda should have never been approved by you Fatal Drugs Allowed folks (FDA). But as most people know today FDA is simply Big Pharma's Washington Branch Office. As evidence the FDA has no concern at all for safe food and drugs, they have refused to recall aspartame when they knew from the beginning aspartame triggers seizures, four types of seizures on their own FDA report, and the RAO study used as pivotal in the approval of aspartame. This 52 week oral toxicity study performed with 7 infant monkeys showed 5 had grand mal seizures and one died. http://www.dorway.com/raoreport.pdf The study admits it was due to the high serum phenylalanine. That's very interesting since the FDA and the manufacturers and front groups say it doesn't get in the blood, and yet their own study proved it. http://www.wnho.net/answering_monsantos_denial.htm That's the modus operandi of FDA and industry - just simply disregard all severe reactions.

So let's see, Dr. Eschenbach, its okay for deadly drugs to masquerade as additives and trigger headaches, seizures and blindness with full FDA approval! It's okay as well for these "in reality drugs" to violate the law, since both aspartame and sucralose liberate free methyl alcohol (aspartame) and chlorine (Splenda).

Consider that in l986 the Community Nutrition Institute filed also a Citizens Petition for recall of aspartame because it triggers seizures and blindness from the free methyl alcohol. The FDA refused. The case was unrefutable and yet FDA cared so little about the health of the public they simply ignored the facts.

So lets see now, its okay to keep something on the market that causes seizures, blindness and migraines, and gets in the blood stream. http://www.wnho.net/answering_monsantos_denial.htm It's okay for these two drugs to liberate methanol and chlorine violating Adulteration statutes, both state and federal. And since it's against the law to ship an adulterated drug it violates interstate shipping laws.

And lets not forget the brain tumors that were triggered in original aspartame studies, but also testicular, mammary, uterine, ovarian, pancreatic and thyroid tumors. Indeed, the Ramazzini study has proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that aspartame is a multipotential carcinoma confirming FDA's original studies: http://www.wnho.net/new_aspartame_studies.htm

Rather than be responsible and take it off the market the FDA aids in stumbling the public by completely disregarding it. In the article written by Melanie Warner of the New York Times, when she questions FDA on recall she was told it would be too much of an economic impact. In other words its okay to have hundreds of thousands of people die from this addictive excitoneurotoxic carcinogenic drug causing cancer and neurological diseases throughout the world, including epidemics of diabetes and obesity, but don't let the manufacturers be hurt not getting all their loot for the killings

And so many people are having drug interactions because aspartame interacts with all drugs and vaccines: http://www.wnho.net/aspartame_interacts.htm Rather than recall aspartame so this won't happen we get a quick bill passed making the pharmaceutical companies no longer liable for the unsafe drugs they sell.

Now lets talk about you, Dr. Eschenbach. When you were working for the National Cancer Institute you declared a goal of "eliminating suffering and death due to cancer by 2015. And yet when I send you all the evidence that we have a deadly carcinogen on the market dated July 19, 2006, you completely disregard it, as if you hope it will go away. You don't even have the courtesy to answer it. I guess it would be hard since we have so many of the original government documents which shows the FDA has known aspartame is a carcinogen for over a quarter of a century. Dr. John Olney, in fact, even made world news back in l996 over the brain tumor issue.

So was it all talk, Dr. Eschenbach? It's been three months and my letter has not been answered, and you know beyond a shadow of a doubt we are dealing with a deadly carcinogen. http://www.wnho.net/project_recall_aspartame.htm And now comes a report on Splenda causing migraines which was expected since McNeil had confessed this information months ago.. and seizures! So read the report below and let us know when you're going to do your job and pull harmful products from the market. And in regard to aspartame remember that the Delaney Amendment is still in effect which forbids putting anything in food you know causes cancer in animals. http://www.wnho.net/delaney_lives.htm

When will the FDA protect the public instead of continual harm from drugs masquerading as an additive. The confession by McNeil is just more evidence of the horrific reactions from Splenda, and its obvious from the reports coming in. To make matters worse, with aspartame being a chemical hypersensitization agent, when they get off aspartame and start using Splenda they can have reactions of both. They both have to be recalled.

What are your plans, Dr. Echenbach? James Turner, Atty and Citizens For Health have already petitioned for recall of Splenda, and that was back in April. And I petitioned for recall of aspartame over four years ago: http://www.wnho.net/citizens_aspartame_petition.htm Why no response. These petitions do not go away, and they serve to prove FDA is not operating within the law. Read the new study below my signature.

Popular Sweetener Sucralose as a Migraine Trigger

Abstract and Introduction

Abstract

Sucralose (trichlorogalactosucrose, or better known as Splenda) is an artificial sweetener from native sucrose that was approved by the FDA on April 1, 1998 (April Fool's Day). This observation of a potential causal relationship between sucralose and migraines may be important for physicians to remember this can be a possible trigger during dietary history taking. Identifying further triggers for migraine headaches, in this case sucralose, may help alleviate some of the cost burden (through expensive medical therapy or missed work opportunity) as well as provide relief to migraineurs.

Introduction

Millions of Americans utilize artificial sweeteners as a means of dietary control of sugar intake. Sucralose (trichlorogalactosucrose, or better known as Splenda) is an artificial sweetener from native sucrose that was approved by the FDA on April 1, 1998.[1]
